Infection prevention through hand and skin disinfection
This medication is used for the disinfection of hands and skin. It is particularly effective for hand disinfection of healthcare workers or surgical hand disinfection during operations, and is utilized for disinfecting various items including medical instruments, furniture, and devices. Additionally, it can be safely used to disinfect areas on the skin with wounds, thereby aiding in overall hygiene management. Therefore, this medication is used for disinfecting hands, skin, and medical instruments.
As gluconate chlorhexidine, dilute according to the following concentrations for use. ① Disinfection of hands and skin (excluding hand disinfection of healthcare workers and surgical hand disinfection, and surgical site skin disinfection): 0.1 - 0.5% solution ② Disinfection of medical instruments: 0.1 - 0.5% solution or 0.5% ethanol solution ③ Disinfection of furniture, equipment, and disinfection of skin wounds: 0.05% solution
This medication is a disinfectant containing chlorhexidine, and should not be used on certain patients or areas. Individuals with hypersensitivity to chlorhexidine may experience severe allergic reactions when using this medication. Direct use on the brain, spinal cord, and inner ear should be avoided as it may cause hearing loss or neurological disorders. Caution should be taken when used on mucosal areas such as the vagina, bladder, and oral cavity, as shock symptoms may occur. Care must be taken to avoid contact with the eyes as it can cause severe damage. Individuals with allergies to other medications or a history of asthma or allergic diseases should be careful when using this medication. Caution is needed when used on the vulva just before delivery, as it may be harmful to newborns. If symptoms like nausea, dizziness, or difficulty breathing occur while using this medication, usage should be discontinued immediately and healthcare professionals should be informed. If hypersensitivity reactions such as skin rashes or hives develop, use should be stopped, as severe cases may result in anaphylactic shock. Exposure to sunlight may cause skin sensitivity, so UV protection should be considered after use. Before using this medication, it is essential to check for any past allergic reactions to chlorhexidine. Pregnant or nursing women are advised not to use this product for safety. This medication is for external use only and should not be ingested or injected. In case of accidental ingestion, appropriate emergency treatment must be sought immediately. If it gets into the eyes, they must be rinsed thoroughly with clean water immediately, as severe damage may be a concern. It is advisable not to use it on large wounds or burn areas, particularly for newborns or premature infants who are at higher risk for side effects. Care should be taken not to inhale vapors from prolonged or extensive use of this product. It can corrode metal or glass instruments, so it should not be used on those. After disinfecting surgical areas, they should be completely dried, and caution is needed when used alongside electric scalpels due to fire hazards.
