This medicine is effective for gastrointestinal diseases such as gastric and duodenal ulcers, gastritis, and excessive stomach acid. It also helps alleviate symptoms like heartburn, nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, and belching. It improves symptoms by neutralizing excessive stomach acid through its antacid effect. Therefore, it is used to reduce gastric discomfort or pain and improve digestive health.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults and children over 12 years: Take 1 g as Almagate, 3 times a day, chewed and taken orally 30 minutes to 1 hour after meals. An additional dose may be taken before bedtime if necessary.

Precautions

This medicine should not be taken by individuals who are allergic to this medicine or its ingredients. Patients with Alzheimer’s disease, hemorrhoids, those with body swelling, patients with pregnancy-induced hypertension, individuals experiencing diarrhea, and patients with unexplained gastrointestinal bleeding should not take this medicine. It is advisable not to take this medicine together with tetracycline antibiotics during treatment, as this medicine may interfere with the absorption of antibiotics. Individuals taking other medications should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine, as it may affect the absorption or elimination of other drugs. Particular medications, such as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, ulcer treatment medications, digoxin, chlorpromazine, lansoprazole, prednisolone, penicillin, quinolone, and iron preparations, should ideally have a gap of about 2-3 hours when taken with this medicine. Caution is needed when taking salicylate medications together with this medicine, as it may increase renal excretion. Patients with poor kidney function are advised against taking this medicine due to the risk of accumulation of its components in the body. Individuals who are weak or have insufficient phosphorus intake, or those with malabsorption disorders, should exercise caution when taking this medicine for a long time, as its components may hinder phosphorus absorption and affect bone health. Elderly patients, those with symptoms of gastrointestinal bleeding, and women who are pregnant, possibly pregnant, or breastfeeding should consult a healthcare professional before taking this medicine. If constipation or diarrhea symptoms occur during treatment, it should be discontinued immediately, and a healthcare professional should be consulted. Additionally, if symptoms do not improve after about 2 weeks of use, stop taking the medicine and consult with a doctor or pharmacist. The prescribed dosage and administration must be adhered to strictly, and supervision by a guardian is necessary when administered to children.
