Improvement of sputum retention difficulties (bronchitis, asthma, etc.) and drainage of sinusitis
This medication is used to improve symptoms of sputum retention in acute and chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma, bronchiectasis, and pharyngitis. It also helps with the drainage of chronic sinusitis and facilitates liquid drainage in the ear caused by otitis media with effusion. In other words, it promotes the expulsion of secretions related to respiratory, sinus, and middle ear issues, thereby alleviating symptoms.
Initially take 750 mg once, three times a day orally and if symptoms improve, take 500 mg once, three times a day.
Ages 6 to 12: Take 250 mg once, three times a day. Ages 2 to 5: Take 250 to 500 mg per day divided into four doses. Ages 13 to 18
This medication should not be taken by patients with ulcers in the stomach or duodenum. Additionally, individuals allergic to this medication or its components should avoid usage. It is safe not to use this medication in children under 2 years of age. Patients with liver or heart dysfunction should consult with a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. Individuals with a history of stomach or duodenal ulcers should also exercise caution. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, especially during the first three months of pregnancy, are advised not to take this medication. It is also preferable for breastfeeding women not to take this medication. The elderly should take it carefully, reducing the dosage as bodily functions may be weakened. This medication contains caramel, so those who are allergic to this ingredient should be cautious when taking it. If symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, abdominal bloating, gastrointestinal bleeding, heartburn, loss of appetite, diarrhea, or excessive thirst appear during usage, discontinue and consult a healthcare professional immediately. Additionally, if any skin reactions such as rashes, red spots, or eczema occur, stop taking the medication and consult. Symptoms like headaches, nasal inflammation, itching, palpitations, runny nose, and general pressure should also be monitored. Rarely, severe skin conditions or hepatic dysfunction and shock reactions may occur, requiring immediate consultation with a professional if abnormalities arise. If a cough persists for more than 14 days, it is advisable to stop taking the medication and consult a doctor. In case of overdose, measures may be needed to cleanse the stomach, with gastrointestinal disturbances being the most common symptom. This medication may change in appearance or odor when taken with certain antibiotic syrups, so it is recommended to take them separately if they need to be ingested together. When storing, keep it out of reach of children, avoid direct sunlight, and store in a cool, dry place with the lid tightly closed. Storing the medication in a different container from its original can lead to misuse or quality degradation, so it should always be kept in its original container.
