Prevention and treatment of vitamin B1 deficiency, improvement of metabolic disorders such as neuralgia
This medication is used for the prevention and treatment of vitamin B1 deficiency. It helps individuals who may not adequately ingest vitamin B1, such as those with wasting diseases, hyperthyroidism, pregnant women, lactating mothers, and those engaged in strenuous physical labor. It is also effective in treating neurological disorders, including Wernicke's encephalopathy and beriberi. It can improve symptoms related to vitamin B1 deficiency or metabolic disorders, such as muscle pain, joint pain, neuralgia, peripheral neuritis, and peripheral neuropathy. It is also beneficial in cases of myocardial metabolic disorders. Overall, this medication is used to prevent and treat various conditions resulting from vitamin B1 deficiency.
As thiamine hydrochloride, administer 1 to 50 mg subcutaneously, intramuscularly, or intravenously in adults. Adjust dosage appropriately based on age and symptoms.
This medication is an ampule injection; care should be taken to carefully cut the glass container during use. If glass fragments are mixed in, adverse reactions may occur, so extra caution should be exercised when administering to children and the elderly. This medication should not be administered to patients with allergies to this drug or its ingredients. There have been reported cases of death following intravenous injection due to severe allergic reactions, so skin tests may be recommended for patients suspected of having allergies. In rare cases, repeated intravenous injections of this drug can lead to collapse or serious side effects resulting in death, so if symptoms such as chest pain or shortness of breath occur, administration should be stopped immediately and appropriate treatment should be received. Other side effects may include fever, itching, hives, lethargy, sweating, nausea, cyanosis, respiratory edema, and gastrointestinal bleeding. Vitamin B1 deficiency is often accompanied by deficiencies in other vitamins, so the possibility of mixed vitamin deficiencies should also be considered. This drug should only be used when vitamin B1 deficiency or metabolic disorders are suspected, and if there is no effect, it is best not to continue use for more than one month.
