"Is it too hot to exercise? Should I not?"... Follow these three rules to exercise!
Reduce the intensity by about 10 to 20%.
On hot and humid days, exercise can cause fatigue easily, so it is recommended to take frequent breaks during workouts. It is also advisable to reduce the exercise intensity by about 10-20% compared to usual.
Temperature of 20 degrees Celsius during the morning or evening
Exercise should be done in the morning or evening when the temperature drops to around 20°C to minimize the impact of heat. On days with high heat and humidity, it is advisable to limit exercise to within one hour. Wearing loose clothing or functional sportswear that helps dissipate sweat can assist in heat release during exercise.
Hydrate every 20 minutes
When sweating heavily, it is necessary to drink enough fluids to prevent dehydration. According to research, feeling thirsty already indicates that about 3% of body weight in fluids has been lost. Therefore, it is advisable to consume 150 ml (one paper cup) of water approximately every 20 minutes, even if you do not feel thirsty.
