Depression Recovery Case - Sharing a 20s Depression Recovery Experience
In my mid-20s, I went through a really difficult time due to depression.
Not even prepared for employment, and relationships are a mess.
As my anxiety about the future grew increasingly, every day felt like hell.
In the morning, I feel so afraid to open my eyes and don't want to do anything at all.
Everything felt meaningless.

So I decided to start by changing the really small things, one by one.
At first, it was just about going outside once a day.
Just going outside to get some sunlight and walking slowly around the neighborhood
I felt my mood gradually improving.
It seemed like nothing, but at that time, it was really a big change for me.
Just taking a single step outside, even though I had only stayed at home every day
I felt like a day was different.
Exercise also helped a lot.
I have heard many times that exercise is good for depression, but,
It was not easy to start because I really didn't want to do anything.
However, my friend suggested we go to the gym together, so I started with some light exercise.
On difficult days, even going to exercise was hard, but
After doing it, I felt my mood gradually clear up and my heart become lighter.
And when I was feeling depressed, it was my habit to suffer alone in silence.
I started to gather courage and open up my true feelings to a close friend.
Honestly share the feelings I am experiencing,
I was truly comforted by listening to my friend's advice.
I'm not the only one going through this, and there are people who feel these emotions too.
Knowing that I am not the only one brings me comfort.
Ultimately, depression is not something you overcome in a single moment.
It was a gradual process of taking care of myself slowly and receiving help from those around me.
There are still some difficult days sometimes, but I have improved a lot compared to before.
I can't say I've completely overcome it, but...
Still, I think I now know how to overcome feelings of depression when they come.
What I feel is that starting with really small changes is important.
And don't try to handle everything on your own,
Don't forget that receiving help from those around you can also be a great source of strength.
Depression can be overcome, and since I did it, I believe anyone else can do it too.
