Precautions

This medication should not be used by individuals who are allergic to this medication or any of its ingredients. Also, children under 1 year of age should not use this medication. During the use of this medication, it is advisable not to use other eye drops concurrently. When taking ketotifen fumarate orally, its effects may be enhanced when taken with central nervous system depressants, antihistamines, or alcohol. Additionally, there is a risk of decreased platelet count when taken alongside oral diet medications. After using this medication, vision may become blurred; therefore, it is advisable to avoid driving or operating machinery until vision is clear. Furthermore, drowsiness or sedative effects may occasionally occur, so caution is needed while engaging in these activities. Consultation with a physician, dentist, or pharmacist may be necessary before using this medication, especially for individuals currently undergoing treatment or receiving allergy therapy, those with a history of drug allergy symptoms, individuals with eye itching or pain, and pregnant or breastfeeding women. If eye congestion, irritation, or itching persists after using this medication, or if eyelid inflammation occurs, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. The same applies if vision remains blurred, symptoms worsen, or no improvement is seen after one week. Transient eye stinging or irritation symptoms such as redness, swelling, or itching may occur while using this medication. It is essential to adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage and only use it for ophthalmic purposes. Care should be taken to avoid contact between the tip of the container and the eyelid or eyelashes; if the solution becomes contaminated or cloudy, it should not be used. It is also advisable not to share it with other individuals. When using with other eye drops, maintain an interval of at least 5 minutes. If this medication is accidentally ingested, there is generally little concern about overdose. This medication contains benzalkonium chloride as a preservative, which may adhere to soft contact lenses; therefore, do not use it while wearing lenses, and wait at least 15 minutes after use before putting lenses back in. Store this medication between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius and do not use it after 4 weeks following opening. Keep it out of reach of children, and do not transfer it from its original container to another container. Doing this will help prevent misuse and maintain the quality of the medication.
