This medication is used to replenish and maintain the fluid and electrolyte loss due to diarrhea in infants and children. It helps prevent dehydration caused by diarrhea and supports maintaining a healthy fluid balance.

How to take

Adult dose

Adults and elderly: Administer 40 mL per day per kg of body weight as prescribed.

Child dose

Infants and children: Administer 100 to 150 mL per day per kg of body weight divided into doses. Breastfeeding infants: After administering as for formula-fed infants, ensure adequate breastfeeding, and express any remaining breast milk.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with renal impairment who produce little or no urine. It should also not be administered to patients with intestinal obstruction, ileus, or perforation of the intestine. It is advisable not to use this drug in patients with uncontrolled severe vomiting. This medication is also unsuitable for patients with severe dehydration who cannot take medication orally. In elderly patients, care should be taken when using this medication due to the sodium component if renal function is suspected to be impaired. If vomiting, fever, or diarrhea persists for more than a day, it is essential to consult a physician, and caution should be exercised when using this medication in dehydration states with elevated blood sodium levels. In rare cases of overdose, blood sodium or potassium levels may increase; appropriate treatment should be administered in such cases. This medication is to be taken orally only and does not contain preservatives, so any remaining medicine after opening should be discarded.

Storage

This medication should be stored in a sealed container to prevent exposure to air and should be kept at room temperature between 1 and 30 degrees Celsius. Maintaining appropriate temperature and sealing will safely preserve the medication's effectiveness.
