I'm a homemaker in my early 40s, and lately I was really self-conscious about how tired my face looked because of my nasolabial folds whenever I took photos. My makeup hadn't changed, but I felt like I looked older for no particular reason, so after thinking it over, I eventually started looking into nasolabial fold filler. When I researched it, I found that the price of nasolabial fold filler varied from about 330,000 to 660,000 won depending on the clinic, and there were quite a lot of reviews too. Unlike Botox, which works by controlling the muscles, this treatment fills in lost volume, so it seemed like a better fit for me. The most important thing I heard during the consultation was “how naturally it would be done.” I was told that the nasolabial folds can look obvious if too much is injected, so I didn’t overdo it and went with a moderate amount. The procedure was over much more quickly than I expected, and the pain was just a slight stinging sensation, so it was bearable. When I looked in the mirror afterward, it looked a little awkward and swollen, but I was told that this was normal. Apparently, because the nasolabial area moves a lot, there can be swelling for about 2–3 days before it gradually starts to look more natural. After about three days, most of the swelling had gone down, and by around a week, it had definitely settled in naturally. What I was happiest about was that it looked “better without being obvious.” It didn’t look like I’d had a procedure done at all—more like my face just looked more refined? Rather than completely getting rid of my nasolabial folds, it softened them, making my overall expression look much brighter. My makeup also creases less and goes on more smoothly. I think the expression “it looks like my original face, just slightly improved” fits perfectly. Personally, I think it’s a good treatment for anyone who wants a natural-looking improvement, and if you’re worried about nasolabial folds, I recommend getting a consultation at least once.
