The 1450 nm wavelength is highly absorbed by water and oil within the skin, and its penetration depth corresponds to the depth at which the sebaceous glands are located. Energy is selectively delivered to the sebaceous glands while the epidermis is protected by cooling.
Rather than extracting acne, this treatment targets the amount of sebum production itself. Taking into account the difference in sebum production between the T-zone and cheeks, the output and irradiation density are adjusted for each area.
