I went to Obliv Clinic after asking around and getting a recommendation because my child had an ingrown toenail. I was surprised to see that more people than I expected had come in for ingrown toenails. After being told that my child had both an ingrown toenail and athlete’s foot, we started treatment. They attached an ingrown toenail correction brace to help manage the toenail.

A few months ago, I was worried because my neck and lower back were in bad shape. I saw that they offered a one-time trial through social media, so I went once and ended up continuing treatment. Luckily, I had private medical insurance that I’d signed up for a long time ago, and they told me it would cover almost the entire cost, so I purchased a package and have been going whenever I have time. 10 sessions of manual therapy and 5 sessions of shockwave therapy, for a total of 15 sessions. Because of the insurance claim rules, I couldn’t receive manual therapy and shockwave therapy on the same day, so I scheduled them as close together as possible. After going through the treatments, I’m much better than before, although I know I can’t get completely better... It feels refreshing only while I’m receiving the treatment, and they say I need to maintain good posture in my everyday life. But I guess it’s difficult to change overnight the posture I haven’t paid attention to for several decades.

I had been considering trying manual therapy, and when I saw they were offering a trial session as part of an event, I decided to give it a try. Since it specializes in manual therapy, I could definitely tell that it was different from a regular orthopedic clinic. I told them that I had issues like forward head posture and lower back pain, and they carefully analyzed my usual posture and body alignment. They also gave me detailed advice on what I should be careful about going forward. Luckily, they said manual therapy can still be reimbursed through private health insurance for now, so I went ahead and paid for 10 manual therapy sessions and 5 shockwave therapy sessions. Without insurance reimbursement, it would have been a significant financial burden, but they also explained the costs thoroughly. I thought it was a great opportunity, and although it’s far from where I live, I decided to keep going consistently, hoping that my body would hurt less and that my condition could improve significantly. I heard that private insurance reimbursement for manual therapy may no longer be available starting around July, so I thought it might be helpful for everyone to keep that in mind.

I just finished my last physical therapy session. I've been going lately because my neck and back have been really bad, but I found out that insurance won't cover it starting July 1st. Just a heads up for everyone. Here, there are a lot of therapists, so you can try different ones and find the one that suits you best, which is nice. From what I've experienced, most of them are pretty great, but if you're sensitive, just keep that in mind! They also said it would be good to combine the physical therapy with shockwave therapy every now and then. At first, you get an initial consultation, and it's great that if you explain your condition in detail, they give you a thorough examination. I have a forward head posture and pelvic tilt, so my back is in pretty bad shape... They keep encouraging me to stretch regularly, and I've been trying to do that. I might not get completely better, but I hope I do!
