When my child was not eating as well as usual and was sniffing a lot, I initially thought it was just a light cold. However, after about two days, the nasal congestion got worse, and he started breathing through his mouth more often. At night, he kept waking up while trying to sleep, so I decided to visit the pediatrician. After arriving at the hospital and checking in, we measured my child's temperature and weight. In the examination room, the doctor first looked into his throat to check for any swelling or inflammation, and also examined his ears. Then, while checking his nose, the doctor looked at the condition of the discharge and listened to his chest and back with a stethoscope to check his breathing sounds. The doctor also asked in detail about any allergy symptoms my child usually has and whether he had any friends who missed school due to a cold recently. During the examination, the doctor noticed that my child kept sniffing and explained what was causing his discomfort. I was advised to keep the air at home from being too dry and to encourage regular hydration. They informed me to ensure he takes his medication consistently at the prescribed times. Additionally, I was told to seek further medical attention if he started running a fever or had severe coughing. Throughout the visit, the doctor treated my child gently, which made him not afraid of the examination, and as a guardian, it was a helpful visit in understanding his current condition.
