Every joint in my body was aching, and it was hard to even move a finger; my whole body felt so heavy. I didn’t have a high fever, but I was shivering with chills and had severe muscle pain, so I couldn’t sleep at all and tossed and turned all night. As soon as I woke up, I headed straight to the local clinic. The doctor took one look at me and immediately recognized that I had a severe cold and flu. He said that when your immune system weakens due to a hectic schedule or stress, you can end up with body aches like this, and that just taking medicine might not be enough for a speedy recovery. So I got an injection of an anti-inflammatory pain reliever in my hip and laid on a heating bed in the physiotherapy room, which felt like pure healing. Lying there while being warmed up made me feel like the stiff neck and shoulder muscles were finally loosening up. After getting the shot and taking my medication, I managed to get a little sleep. By morning, I felt so much lighter and the pain had significantly lessened, I felt like I could actually live again. Once again, I realized that when you’re feeling flu-like symptoms, it’s better to not stubbornly endure it and lay around, but rather to come straight to the clinic and get prescribed medication and an injection. I know many people around me have been suffering because of weak immune systems, so if you feel even the slightest chill in your body, don’t hold back; I highly recommend going to the hospital to get the flu shot.
