How much of a difference is there in pain between sedation and topical anesthesia during an Ultherapy procedure?
I have heard so many times that Ulthera is the ultimate painkiller among lifting lasers that I am really scared even before making an appointment.
I usually tolerate most dermatology procedures well with just topical anesthesia, but I've seen many reviews saying that Ultherapy is bone-shattering pain that brings tears to your eyes.
However, I am conflicted because I worry that getting general anesthesia every time would add to the cost and be a burden on my body.
For those who have actually received over 300 shots with only topical anesthesia, I am curious if the pain is bearable, or if it would be better to safely get full sedation anesthesia and have peace of mind.
I've noticed that the time for applying anesthetic cream and whether wrapping is used varies from hospital to hospital. Are there any special tips to help reduce the pain even a little?
I am even more nervous after hearing that if high-intensity ultrasound is emitted while the anesthesia is not properly administered, the impact is felt directly on the bones near the jaw or cheekbones.
I am also concerned that using general anesthesia might disadvantage the design or shot targeting because communication is not possible during the procedure.
I've heard that some people ask to have the anesthesia stopped midway due to the pain. Should I just tough it out, or would it be wise to compromise on the anesthesia options?
It would be a great help if Ultherapy experts could share detailed, vivid reviews of the pain and criteria for choosing anesthesia.
