Is it bearable to receive 400 shots of Ultherapy with only topical anesthesia and without general anesthesia?

I went for a consultation regarding 400 shots of Ultherapy because my facial elasticity has decreased overall and my jowls have worsened. I am a bit scared of general anesthesia and worried about side effects, so I would prefer to proceed with just numbing cream; however, I am hesitant because I have heard that the pain from Ultherapy feels like being hit in the bone and is extremely severe. I am also wondering if the effectiveness is significantly reduced if I use tip cooling or lower the energy level when the tingling pain is intense.
