Does the tightening sensation from the shrink wrap last a long time?

My friend told me that she got a Shurink treatment and got scolded for the pulling more than for the pain.

I haven't seen any reviews saying it pulls.

My friend tends to be a bit of a drama queen, so it's even more confusing.
