I started experiencing throat pain after going out. My throat hurt for two days, and I had no other cold symptoms at all, but then suddenly, starting in the afternoon, I lost my voice. So, I visited Bom ENT Clinic in Yangjae-dong. The clinic is located on the 3rd floor, and the waiting room was spacious and comfortable. Although it was daytime, there were quite a few patients. When I explained my throat pain and the sudden loss of voice, the doctor first performed a nasopharyngeal examination. After reviewing the images, I was diagnosed with severe asymmetry between the left and right sides of my nose. The doctor explained that breathing could be uncomfortable due to the asymmetry of the internal nasal space, and a laryngoscopy was performed to diagnose the source of the throat pain. The examination confirmed that my vocal cords were significantly swollen, and I was told that this could be the reason for my inability to speak. Given the condition of my nose and throat, the doctor advised that these symptoms could recur at any time, so I should always keep a humidifier running nearby and take care of my throat by drinking plenty of fluids frequently.
The doctor explained everything kindly and answered my questions in detail.
