Presbyopia correction surgery

I thought there was no way to do anything about presbyopia, but I was relieved to hear that there is presbyopia correction surgery. I wonder if presbyopia correction surgery can be performed on any eye, unlike LASIK or LASEK, which are different for people who wear lenses. I heard that the procedure involves replacing the lens with a multifocal artificial intraocular lens, and I would like to know around what age people usually undergo this procedure.
