LASIK and LASEK

What is the difference between LASIK and LASEK? And does everyone's vision improve after surgery? Someone around me says their eyes get red quickly and they have dry eyes, is that common for everyone who undergoes the surgery? I want to do it, but I'm scared because of possible side effects or aftereffects. Also, can my vision worsen again?
