Cataract surgery

My mom was diagnosed with cataracts some time ago. I thought she would have surgery immediately after the diagnosis, but she hasn't had the surgery yet. Is she okay to continue with her daily life after being diagnosed with cataracts? Also, I wonder if cataracts can heal naturally or be treated with medication without surgery.

And also, please tell me about foods that are good for cataracts. Haha
