Mother's cataract diagnosis and management

My mom said she feels like flies are buzzing around her.

I received an eye examination and was diagnosed with cataracts. It's not yet at the stage where surgery is necessary, but they said that depending on the progression of the cataracts in the future, surgery may be needed. They mentioned that regular habits such as a healthy diet, UV protection, and consistent exercise can have a significant impact and help improve the condition. Therefore, I am maintaining these habits diligently every day. In particular, I am consistently drinking plenty of water and taking omega-3 supplements, and now my condition has improved significantly, and the symptoms of seeing flies or floaters have also greatly improved.

I truly feel that all lifestyle habits are very important.

정말 긍정적인 변화가 있으신 것 같아, 글을 읽는 저도 덩달이 기분이 좋았습니다. '수술할 정도는 아닌데, 차후 백내장 진행여부에 따라 수술이 필요하다.'는 진단을 받으시고 꾸준히 수분섭취 하시고 오메가 3 복용하시면서 정말 많이 좋아지셨다고 하니, 명절 분위기에 딱 맞는 즐거운 글이 아닌가 하는 생각도 했습니다. 부모님 세대는 우리 세대와 달라서 병원 가는 것을 정말 꺼려 하시는것 같아요. 그럼에도 위안이 되는 부분은 진료 후, 의사선생님께서 해주신 말씀은 정말 철칙으로 알고 잘 들으신다는 거죠. 어머니께서도 병원 다녀 오시고, '아직은 수술이 필요하지 않다.'는 의사선생님 말씀 들으시고 위로를 얻고, 희망의 끈을 잡으셨을 것 같네요. 의사선생님께서 알려주신 대로 지키시려고 노력하셨을 것이고, 자녀들 입장에서도 어머니께 많이 관심과 사랑을 주신 덕분이기도 한 것 같네요. 앞으로도 어머니께서 건강하시길, 특히 건강한 눈으로 만수무강 하시길 응원할께요. 즐거운 추석 연휴 보내세요.
