Will one laser treatment be effective for the age spots on the back of my hand?

My mother-in-law has quite a few age spots on her arms and the backs of her hands.

I understand that age spots are caused by genetic factors and aging. My husband started getting a few on the back of his hands in his 40s, and recently, I noticed they are quite extensive. Now in his mid-50s, he asks why a man would need laser treatment, but I am curious if even a single session would be effective for removal.
