Does it take a long time for the eye shape to settle after double eyelid surgery?

I am considering double eyelid surgery.

I didn't originally have a huge complex about my eyes, but
I started to get self-conscious because whenever I took a picture, one of my eyes looked unusually small.

I am more worried about the recovery process than the surgery itself.

I heard there is swelling, especially in the beginning.
I would like to know how long it takes for the eye shape to finally settle.
