Is being easily startled more than others related to heart health?
hello,
I am concerned because I tend to get startled much more easily than others. My reactions are so intense and frequent that the people around me are actually more flustered by seeing me get startled. Sometimes, just seeing someone in an elevator makes my heart sink, which makes my daily life very exhausting.
Although I do not have a family history of heart problems, I get startled excessively often, so I am worried that there might be an underlying issue with my heart health. Whenever I am startled, my heart pounds severely and takes a long time to calm down. Is this simply due to my personality or temperamental sensitivity? Or should I consider this a medical sign, such as an arrhythmia or an autonomic nervous system disorder?
I am wondering if these symptoms are due to a weak heart, or if I need help from an internal medicine or psychiatric clinic in addition to orthopedic pain management to alleviate this sensitivity. If there are ways to reduce symptoms of being overly startled like I am, please advise.
