I had been coughing frequently and producing yellow phlegm. My nose was also completely blocked, and I had a throbbing headache, so I visited a nearby hospital. The doctor carefully examined my throat and the inside of my nose and told me that I had symptoms of acute sinusitis. I was suddenly terrified when he said that if left untreated, it could progress to a chronic condition. Fortunately, he reassured me that I would get better quickly if I took my medication consistently and got plenty of rest. After my appointment, I received my prescription and went straight to the pharmacy. When I looked at the prescribed medication, I saw that it contained a good mix of antibiotics, cough suppressants, expectorants, and nasal decongestants. The pharmacist advised me to take the medication every 30 minutes after meals and emphasized that drinking plenty of water would help expel phlegm. For the past few days since visiting the hospital, I have been taking my medicine and keeping the humidifier running at full blast. My cough has definitely decreased and my nasal congestion has improved, so I feel like I can finally breathe.
