My teeth are sensitive whenever I drink cold water. Should I see a dentist for this too?

Usually, it’s nothing, but
One of my molars tingles momentarily only when I drink cold water.

At first, I brushed it off thinking it was just temporary, but
I've had this same feeling for the past few days, so it's been subtly bothering me.

It's fine when I brush my teeth, and I don't feel anything special even when eating hot food.

I'm wondering if it's a good idea to check for cavities or the condition of my gums even with just these symptoms.
