hello?
For the past three weeks, I have been having indigestion and have been burping whenever I eat something. When I take a deep breath, my throat feels blocked, so I visited a thoracic surgeon and had a chest x-ray and electrocardiogram. The doctor said there was nothing wrong, and that it could be because the esophagus and the heart share the same nerves. So I took medication prescribed for reflux esophagitis for about a week.
At the time, I thought it was getting a little better, but two days ago, I felt a little short of breath again, so I had an endoscopy today and the results showed that I had severe gastritis and reflux esophagitis, so they also did a biopsy.
They say the biopsy results will come out in 3 weeks... I'm anxious and constantly worried ㅠㅠ I quit drinking, coffee, and smoking 3 weeks ago, and I don't eat flour or snacks either...
1. Is it common to perform a biopsy during an upper endoscopy?
2. Do you occasionally have difficulty breathing due to symptoms of gastritis or reflux esophagitis?
