Lately, I've been feeling a burning sensation in my throat. It's like a heat rising from within me is rising up to my throat. At first, I thought it was simply dryness, but as time went on, I felt it more and more often. When I went to the hospital, they diagnosed it as "reflux esophagitis."
When I first heard that, I thought, "So this is how uncomfortable it is." Every time I eat, I worry that my stomach might start to ache again, and even when I lie down to sleep, my throat feels sore or stuffy that it's hard to fall asleep. So these days, I'm trying to be more careful about my eating habits. I avoid coffee and spicy foods, and I try not to lie down right after a meal.
Despite this, the "burning sensation" that suddenly strikes midday still bothers me. Does anyone else experience this symptom as frequently as I do? I'm curious how you manage it.
