Does shampoo that claims to be good for hair loss actually work?

These days, there are many shampoos advertised on TV claiming to be effective against hair loss. Do these shampoos really work? Has anyone tried them and seen results? I don't have serious concerns about hair loss, but I am thinking of switching to one of these shampoos as a preventive measure. I'm curious if they are truly effective.
