Is family history an important factor to check when getting a hair loss test?

I've been worried about my hair loss lately, so I'm considering getting a checkup.

I am wondering if it is advisable to mention having a family member with hair loss during the consultation, and whether lifestyle habits or recent health status are checked in addition to family history.
