I have been losing a lot of hair lately. Does hair dye affect hair loss?

I started dyeing my hair last year because it bothered me. Instead of going to a salon, I bought hair dye and dyed it at home.

It seems like I'm losing more and more hair since I dyed it. At first, I thought it was just my imagination, but it really is falling out more and more. I have a feeling that these symptoms started appearing after I dyed my hair.

Does hair dye affect hair loss?
