Additionally, there was a stabbing pain in the front of my genitals, as if pierced with a needle. When I have a bladder infection, it’s extremely painful and uncomfortable, with no relief from urination, and I feel a persistent, unpleasant sensation of residual urine. The urethral area feels very uncomfortable and constricted, making it really difficult. Even when sleeping at night, I often wake up feeling the urgent need to urinate, which causes me to go to the bathroom frequently. However, I don’t urinate much each time, making it uncomfortable and causing me to sleep poorly, which made me very tired.
Cystitis is known to occur more frequently in women, and the reason is that anatomically, the urethra is shorter, making it easier for intestinal bacteria to colonize the perineum and vaginal opening.
Cystitis is most commonly caused by Escherichia coli, and factors such as infections from sexual activity, unhygienic lifestyle habits, and weakening of the bladder mucosa due to hormonal changes can be causes. It is also said that when immunity is weakened, the risk of bacterial infection increases.
Cystitis is a very common condition often called a cold of the bladder, and because it has a high likelihood of recurrence, ongoing management and effort are necessary.
