Over the weekend, the treated area suddenly started hurting, so I rushed to the hospital. I barely managed to get through the weekend by taking Tylenol at home, and went to the dentist as soon as Monday arrived. It used to be a crown, and the doctor suggested taking an X-ray. After the scan, they said it looked like there was a cavity inside. They recommended removing it and treating the tooth, but since it was a gold crown, it cannot be restored once removed. It's a bit disappointing, but the pain was excruciating, so we had the entire prosthesis removed and underwent a new root canal treatment. Since gold crowns have become so expensive these days, we decided to have it treated with zirconia instead.
