I was shocked to see my child's eyes swollen when they woke up. They were red and whimpering that it hurt when I touched them; it was obvious at a glance that it was a stye. Worried, I rushed to a nearby ophthalmologist before dropping them off at kindergarten. I was so relieved when the doctor examined it and said that pus hadn't formed yet, so they suggested treating it with medication instead of lance it. I broke a sweat trying to soothe my frightened child during the examination, but I felt reassured because the doctor explained everything kindly. I got a prescription for oral medication and eye drops. We had a bit of a struggle because my child was scared of putting in the eye drops, but the pain definitely subsided quickly after visiting the hospital. They also told me to apply warm compresses frequently, so I did that diligently, and my child was almost completely healed in just three days.
