First dermatology treatment at Goyang Maypure Hwajeong! Agnes Laser Review
The reason I first went to the dermatologist
My first dermatological procedure was a laser treatment!
The reason was a syringoma that had formed under my eye.
At first, they appeared as faint, bumpy raised spots under my eyes. They blended with my pores and looked a bit more prominent, but back then, the round shapes were flat, so they weren't very noticeable from a distance. I thought they were just milia...
Then later, just when I thought these bumps were going to disappear,
Suddenly, some of them became distinctly shaped and bulged upwards.
I found out that unlike milia, syringomas are difficult to disappear naturally and can grow larger or spread to surrounding areas over time.
I went to a dermatologist because I heard that syringomas are difficult to remove without laser treatment and can spread to surrounding areas.
Things I was worried about or reasons I hesitated before the visit
I had decided to go to a dermatologist, but honestly, I had a lot of concerns.
First of all, the most realistic concern was the cost...
Since laser treatments aren't exactly cheap, the cost was a bit of a burden.
Also, since the skin under the eyes is particularly thin and sensitive, I was worried about what to do if there were side effects or if it might be painful.
I had a hard time removing it, so I was also anxious about what would happen if it recurred later.
Still, thinking it was right to get treatment before it was too late, I went.
Actual hospital atmosphere, consultation process, explanation
The place I visited is Maypure Clinic.
It is a chain, so there are many dermatology clinics in other regions as well.
I trusted the place to some extent because there were already many reviews for laser treatment.
Since it is a chain dermatology clinic managed separately by the headquarters, the interior facilities were also clean.
There is also a locker room where you can store personal belongings.
There is a powder room where you can wash your face.
Actually, you have to wash your face yourself here.
At other dermatology clinics, the esthetician handles everything, including facial cleansing, but at Maypure, it is self-service.
Maypure's overall costs are a bit lower compared to other places, and they say that price is achieved by eliminating unnecessary markups and saving on labor costs.
It might be a bit of a shame that you have to wash your face yourself, but considering the price, it wasn't bad.
When I actually visited Maypure, the director and staff were really kind, and the hospital atmosphere wasn't stiff at all.
I was a little worried that since it is a chain store, they might do a sloppy job like a factory, but my worries were unfounded; I liked that they provided such meticulous consultation.
The reason I decided to get the procedure
First of all, since syringomas are molluscum contagiosum warts formed from clumps of sebum, they do not heal naturally. Naturally, they won't heal with cosmetics or exfoliation either.
I decided to get the procedure done because removing it with a laser, like melasma, is the cleanest method.
Among the lasers, I received the Agnes laser treatment.
I chose Agnes because it uses a method that precisely targets the treatment area with high-frequency laser, resulting in almost no scarring, and the area under my eyes is sensitive.
Honest feelings I felt because it was my “first time”
I was really nervous because it was my first time receiving a proper dermatological procedure, aside from basic skin conditions like itching and acne treatment!
I thought to myself, "Finally, I'm getting a proper procedure at a dermatology clinic," and since it was a new experience, I was excited but also a little nervous.
When I actually received it, I realized the laser was so simple that it wasn't a big deal at all haha.
The laser treatment also took about 5 minutes and didn't hurt.
I think I was more nervous for no reason since it was my first time😅
If you would like to visit again
To start with the conclusion, I am already consistently revisiting!
I received a total of 3 laser treatments (it varies from person to person), and the interval between treatments was 4 weeks.
It wasn't a method where the syringomas completely disappeared after just one session, but were removed little by little over the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd sessions.
Of course, it is extremely swollen and red right after the procedure...
It slowly disappeared as time passed.
This was during the first and second sessions, and the surface of the syringoma was scraped away and disappeared.
There was a bit more on the right side compared to the left, so it only disappeared on the right after I received all three sessions.
Now it's become this clean!
Overall satisfaction
I don't know when the syringomas might come back, but for now, it's so clean that I'm very satisfied!
I am currently also receiving basic skin lesion management here, such as mole removal, warts, and skin tags.
Most importantly, it has been half a year since the laser treatment, and my eye area has remained clear, so I plan to continue using this clinic.
The hospital was friendly and I am very satisfied with the results of the procedure, as there was no recurrence.
This is a dermatology clinic I am already revisiting haha.
