When I woke up in the morning, it wasn't always painful. I made a 9:30 appointment, and they told me to call if it hurt and come right away. By the afternoon, even touching the lower part of my tooth hurt. I thought this was it, so I called and went to see them. They said my lower molar had a crack and became inflamed. They gave me root canal treatment and a temporary sealant, and I'd have another root canal treatment next week. They explained it so kindly and thoroughly that I found myself nodding along. The total treatment time is about a month. They'll even put a crown on it, but I really hope this goes well. They said if the crack reaches the root canal, extraction and implants are the last resort. Thankfully, they'll deduct the cost of the crown if it's within a year. I made a two-week appointment for the Lunar New Year holiday and went home. It hurts, but the kindness of the dentist makes me feel much more at ease.
