For the past few days, whenever I drank cold water, my teeth started to hurt so much that I finally went to the dentist. Honestly, I've always been afraid of the dentist since I was a child, so I wanted to avoid it as much as possible. However, the pain was getting worse, and I couldn't put it off any longer. I arrived on time for my appointment, and the interior was brighter and cleaner than I expected, which put me at ease. In the waiting room, a video about dental health was playing, and posters detailing proper brushing techniques were posted on the wall. Reading them helped ease my anxiety a little.
As I entered the examination room and sat down in the chair, my shoulders tense up for no reason. The doctor asked me in detail about my discomfort and thoroughly examined my teeth. After taking an X-ray and hearing the explanation, he told me that my cavity was quite advanced. I was momentarily worried, but the doctor explained the treatment process step by step, which helped me calm down.
I was nervous when I heard the drill, but the pain wasn't as bad as I expected. Perhaps because the anesthesia worked well, it was bearable, and the treatment didn't take long. However, my jaw did feel a little sore from having my mouth open for so long. After the treatment, I checked my teeth in the mirror and felt a strange sense of satisfaction at how clean and neat they looked.
Finally, after receiving instructions and a prescription, I left the hospital. Stepping outside, my legs felt a little shaky, perhaps due to the relaxation. I regretted avoiding the dentist out of fear. I vowed to myself to get regular checkups and get prompt treatment for any minor issues. It was a day that reminded me once again that the best approach is to manage illness before it happens.
