According to a study published in JAMA Neurology, frailty is a strong predictor of dementia risk, with each additional four or five age-related health problems increasing the risk by 40%.
An international team of researchers led by the University of Queensland in the UK tracked data from nearly 30,000 participants in four longitudinal studies conducted in the UK and the US for 20 years.
The study found that frailty accelerated nine years before dementia diagnosis in patients. Furthermore, for every four to five age-related health problems, the risk of developing dementia increased by 40%. The researchers stated, "This suggests that frailty is not a consequence of undetected dementia, but rather an active contributor to its development."
The researchers suggested that "frailty screening and wellness programs may help improve long-term cognitive health outcomes." This suggests that monitoring frailty during regular health checkups is crucial for dementia prevention.
“People age at different rates, and the number of health problems they accumulate is determined by their level of frailty,” said study author Dr. David Ward. “By understanding the links between aging, frailty, and dementia, we can use targeted intervention strategies to reduce risk and improve quality of life.”
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), more than 55 million people worldwide suffer from dementia, with 10 million new cases occurring each year.

I suddenly feel weak and like "huh~" these days.
I guess this has something to do with aging.
Resilience is also lower than before,
It's a feeling of being drained of energy.
