Does the shape of the filler change a lot after the swelling goes down?

When I first started looking into fillers, my biggest concern was swelling.

I heard that even if it looks pretty right after the procedure, the shape might change once the swelling goes down.

I don't really have a sense of how extensive the procedure should be.
