How should I wash my face and apply makeup before a laser treatment for blemishes?

I'm wondering how I should prepare for the procedure on the day. I usually make sure to apply sunscreen and cushion foundation when I go to work, but I'm not sure if I can wear my usual makeup when going for the treatment.

I did some research and found that it is best to have no makeup on the skin before laser treatment, and that some clinics even offer cleansing services. I am wondering if it is better to remove even sunscreen and visit with a bare face, or if light makeup is acceptable.

I am also wondering if I should avoid exfoliating or using peeling products the day before or on the day of the procedure. I am also unsure if I should temporarily stop using skincare products that contain retinol or exfoliating ingredients.
