Recently, I felt like my skin elasticity isn't what it used to be, and especially my jawline seems to have lost definition, so I started looking into lifting procedures and visited a clinic for a Thermage consultation. I usually prefer treatments that enhance elasticity naturally rather than dramatic changes, so I asked a lot of questions about this during the consultation. After arriving, they first checked the condition and level of elasticity of my skin and explained the treatment direction based on areas of sagging and skin thickness. Before the procedure, they took photos of my face and recorded my current skin condition, and applied a sufficient amount of numbing cream for pain relief. After marking the grid on my face and confirming the number of shots and areas to be treated, the procedure began. I was told that Thermage uses radiofrequency energy to stimulate the elasticity of the deeper layers of the skin, and during the actual treatment, I felt a warm sensation briefly. Depending on the area, there was a slight stinging sensation, but it was manageable because they adjusted the intensity as they went along. The treatment took about 40 minutes, and they kept checking to make sure I was comfortable throughout, which reassured me. Right after the treatment, my face felt a bit red, but it calmed down quickly, and I felt my skin was slightly firmer. Instead of a dramatic change appearing all at once, I noticed first that the contours of my face were getting refined. A few days later, I noticed my skin texture had become smoother and the makeup adherence had improved. The clinic explained that the effects of Thermage gradually improve elasticity over time and emphasized the importance of moisture and sun protection.
