<Gastroenterology Dr. Kim Won's consultation> To get straight to the point, it was the worst experience. I went to an orthopedic doctor due to swollen hands and tingling, and after blood tests, they suggested I see an internal medicine doctor because my liver enzymes and electrolyte levels were off, but it's not rheumatoid arthritis. A few years ago, my liver enzymes were high, and I saw another doctor who only did blood tests and sent me back with no special recommendations, so I went back again when the levels hadn’t improved after several years. I arrived early for my appointment, and luckily there were no other patients, so I was brought in right away. However, once I sat in the consultation room, the doctor didn’t say a word for three minutes, just typing on his keyboard. When I pointed out that he was looking at the wrong patient record, he finally checked my file but then asked why I came to him after seeing another doctor years ago, implying he didn’t want to deal with me. That visit wasn’t very satisfying, so I just gave a brief answer due to time constraints, mentioning my persistent high liver enzymes, wrist pain, and tingling hands. He cut me off, saying my hands had nothing to do with the liver, and insisted I should just have an ultrasound and blood test without listening further, dismissing my symptoms as irrelevant. It seemed like he only cared about raising his fees, ignoring the patient’s opinions and symptoms. If he had at least listened and considered running some tests, it could have been a different situation. When I pointed out that my liver enzymes were similar to before and questioned the need for more tests, he rudely said, 'This is your first time with me, so you can’t say that,' as if I was the one being unreasonable. I know how difficult it is to deal with people. Especially interacting with patients should be more challenging, yet this doctor showed a basic lack of respect for human beings. From the moment I entered the consultation room, there was no greeting. If he needed to look at my medical records, he could have at least said, 'Please wait a moment.' Three minutes of silence is not trivial. He was looking at someone else's chart, unprepared, and importantly, he didn’t seem to care about what I had to say, even with no other patients waiting. I can understand why there aren’t any patients. A doctor is someone who treats people. A doctor's words can heal a patient’s emotional wounds or, conversely, deepen them. I hope that moving forward, he listens to his patients and develops more empathy to become a good doctor.

I had an appointment yesterday and came again today. I didn't notice much yesterday, but today was the worst. There were several issues: 1. This clinic only prescribes one day's worth of medication and insists on daily visits. In most clinics, they prescribe medication for 3 to 4 days and adjust based on symptoms or switch to different medications, but here they only give a day's worth. When I said I might not be able to come because I’m busy, they insisted that I still had to come. 2. Recommendation for non-covered, detailed tests. I was diagnosed with a cold at another clinic and switched to this one. They suggested I undergo allergy tests and an in-depth examination related to my throat, recommending a 160,000 won test. They said that’s how you get accurate information, which scared me a bit and made me wonder if such a large expense was necessary. I said I’d think about it, and while I was waiting, every patient that came in was offered the same 160,000 won detailed examination. It felt like the reason they wanted me to come in late the previous day was just to encourage me to pay for these non-covered tests... 3. More expensive examination fees than other clinics. After a general examination and treatment for respiratory issues (nasal treatment) at another clinic, I would usually pay around 6,000 to 8,000 won, but here it’s always 11,000 to 12,000 won. When I tried to ask about the pricing, they just said that it included the injection and consultation fees, but I really think they should explain why the prices are like that... 4. Mandatory injections. I came in for a consultation yesterday and got an injection, and today they gave me another injection. I wondered if I was really that sick, but seeing every patient being called into the injection room made it seem like the injections are just a standard part of the treatment. When I asked what the injection was for, they said it's related to treatment, but should I really be getting injections every time I come in? 5. Unfriendly lobby nurses. This clinic has a patient registration system with a registration slip. You can fill it out on-site, but if you already had an appointment the previous day, they give you a paper. This paper is supposed to be placed in front of the nurse in the lobby for registration, but there was no guidance on that. There was an elderly person who came in for the first time and just sat there (they didn’t know how to register and probably thought they would be called). As other patients went in, this person went to ask when they would be called. The nurse answered bluntly, asking if they had registered and then said, "You should go in the order you registered. Just write it down and put it in." I understand being formal, but when someone walks in, if they don’t put their registration slip in, it wouldn’t hurt to ask them or at least explain, "Oh, you didn’t know? This is how it works," but I really felt it was very unfriendly. Overall rating: Honestly, I just feel, 'What kind of ridiculous clinic is this!' I don't think I’ll be going back again. I don’t trust this place, and there are other options available aside from this. Thank you for reading my lengthy review.

A few days ago, I started feeling a sharp pain in my throat, and it hurt a lot every time I swallowed. So, I went to the hospital. At first, I thought it was just a simple cold, but as time went on, it didn't get better, and my voice began to get hoarse, so I decided to visit an ENT clinic. After checking in and explaining my symptoms, the doctor suggested doing a laryngoscopy. I was a bit nervous at first hearing the word 'endoscopy,' but the procedure didn't take as long as I expected. After spraying a numbing spray in my nose, a thin endoscope was inserted to check inside my throat. There was a slight feeling of foreignness, but it was bearable. The examination only took a few minutes, so it was less stressful than I anticipated. The result showed laryngitis. The doctor explained that my vocal cords were swollen and inflamed, which caused the throat pain and the changes in my voice that I was experiencing. Fortunately, it wasn't serious, but I was advised that overusing my voice or eating spicy foods could delay my recovery. I was also told to drink plenty of water, rest enough, and avoid alcohol and smoking. The prescribed medications included antibiotics, anti-inflammatories, stomach medications, and cough suppressants, and I was instructed to take them three times a day after meals. There seemed to be quite a few types of medications, but the doctor explained the purpose of each one, so I felt comfortable taking them. After starting the medication, about a day later, the pain when swallowing decreased a bit, and the next day, I started to feel my voice recovering slowly. I'm not completely healed yet, but I can definitely feel that I'm getting better. Going through this experience made me realize again how important throat health is. Usually, I would just think that a minor sore throat would get better soon and ignore it, but I learned that it's important to get checked out and receive proper treatment for laryngitis early on. Especially for those who use their voice a lot or talk frequently, I think it's advisable to visit a clinic before the symptoms worsen. The hospital staff were kind and conducted the examination and consultation with care, and the laryngoscopy was less burdensome than I thought, so I was able to undergo it more comfortably than I worried about. If you're experiencing persistent throat pain, hoarseness, or difficulty swallowing, I recommend not brushing it off as just a simple cold, and getting an accurate diagnosis from an ENT. I'm also planning to diligently take the prescribed medications until they're finished and allow my throat to rest to ensure a complete recovery. Thanks to this experience, I feel that I won't take any subtle signals from my throat lightly in the future and that I need to get checked out early to manage my health well.

Hello! A little while ago, I suddenly became really dizzy after finishing work. Two years ago, I got extremely dizzy as well, so I had a brain MRI, but nothing abnormal was found. I then went to a local ENT clinic, where they went back and forth about whether it was benign paroxysmal positional vertigo, and eventually things just faded out and got better. But it happened again!! I felt dizzy even when I was sitting still. I was also hearing ringing in my ears, and my ears felt somewhat plugged. My boss said it sounded just like what they had experienced and asked if it might be Ménière’s disease, then recommended a well-known ENT clinic, so I went there. This is my review of Hana ENT Clinic in Yeoksam-dong. Hana ENT Clinic is a specialty hospital. So the tests can be pretty expensive. On the other hand, one advantage is that the doctors are specialized—for example, there are doctors who focus only on the nose and doctors who focus only on the ears. I wanted to find out why I kept getting dizzy, so I decided to get examined even though the tests were expensive. Even though it was 9 a.m. on a Monday, the patients were packed in. Actually, this visit was for a follow-up after taking medication from the ENT clinic. When I first visited, I could barely even open my eyes. I came back for an outpatient appointment two weeks after my first visit to the hospital. After arriving and looking at the outpatient schedule, I learned that it can change depending on the doctor’s schedule, so make sure to check the website or call the call center. Since this was my second visit, I made an appointment beforehand and checked in at the kiosk by selecting the option for scheduled patients to confirm their arrival. The admissions and billing office was extremely crowded, but there was a staff member helping guide patients and keeping everything organized. I was given very kind and prompt assistance. I received my registration slip from the kiosk. For your first visit, you’ll probably need to register at the admissions and billing office. There is also information about the medical staff on the first floor, along with the prices for the IV clinic. They also have a sleep clinic and hyperbaric oxygen therapy here. The department I needed was on the second floor, so I went upstairs. There is another desk on the second floor, but this is not where you submit your registration slip; it’s mainly for assisting patients. If you need to step away briefly because the wait is long, you can let them know and they’ll take note of it. They also help with payment and issuing detailed statements after your appointment. To reduce waiting and confusion at the admissions and billing office on the first floor, they have a patient assistance staff member there and a separate small payment desk on the second floor. I think this is really convenient from the patients’ perspective. The second-floor examination area has a large, comfortable waiting room. There’s also a display showing the current waiting status. There are scheduled patients and same-day walk-in patients. On my first visit, I didn’t know about the appointment system and came as a walk-in, so I ended up waiting almost two hours. Definitely make an appointment... There’s also a place to measure your blood pressure at the back of the second floor. This ENT clinic is quite far from the station, so they operate shuttle buses separately on weekdays and Saturdays. They really run the hospital on a large scale. I like this kind of system. On my first day, I came as a same-day walk-in and waited two hours just to see the doctor. Then I was told the tests would take more than two hours, so I couldn’t get them done that day and had to come back for the tests on my second visit. The testing rooms are in the basement. Besides the hearing test, dizziness test, and dynamic posturography listed on my test sheet that day, there were also several tests written in English. I ran them through ChatGPT and found out they were: * VNG: videonystagmography (vestibular function/dizziness test) * PTA: pure-tone audiometry * vHIT: video head impulse test (semicircular canal function) * cVEMP: cervical vestibular evoked myogenic potential test (mainly evaluates saccular and inferior vestibular nerve function) * EcochG (ECoG): electrocochleography (measures electrical responses from the inner ear/cochlea) That’s what I ended up having done. Since I had made an appointment, I didn’t have to wait long and was seen fairly quickly. At the time, I saw the doctor after completing the tests above and received a primary diagnosis of Ménière’s disease and a secondary diagnosis of headache-related dizziness. In my case, my head hurt because I was dizzy, rather than feeling dizzy because my head hurt, so they determined that it was Ménière’s disease and prescribed medication. They said some of the medication wasn’t covered by insurance, so it was expensive.. wow I was surprised that I didn’t get better right away after taking the medicine on the first day. But apparently Ménière’s disease doesn’t go away quickly just from taking medication.. Still, the medicine started working well from the second day. Now I don’t feel dizzy even when I’m sitting still, as long as I don’t suddenly tilt or turn my head, so I feel like I can finally live normally again. They also have a sleep center, so if that applies to you, consider getting checked there. I’m giving it 5 stars!!! The hospital is very well organized, which made it easy to get both an examination and the necessary tests, and the doctor was kind as well. The outpatient nurses were a little less friendly, though. Maybe it’s difficult for them to respond warmly because there are so many patients. If you’re like me and want to know the cause when you feel dizzy, it seems like a good idea to get examined and tested at this ENT clinic :) If you’re wondering where it is, leave a heart and a comment, and I’ll get back to you quickly!

How much does nasal surgery cost on average?
Hello, for functional rhinoplasty, it is possible to file for reimbursement if a functional issue is diagnosed, while cosmetic rhinoplasty will incur costs. The price for nose surgery ranges from 890,000 to VAT per area, such as the tip or bridge of the nose, and there can be significant variations in costs depending on the materials used and the surgical method. We can provide a detailed cost estimate during your visit. There are options for cost adjustments through our staff, so I recommend scheduling a consultation first. :)
