Seocho-gu Seocho Samsung Eye Clinic provides excellent eye care~~ For eye treatment, come here!!!
As I get older, why do I have so many hospital visits;;;;;;;;;
I went to the ophthalmology clinic yesterday~~~
I recommend Seocho Samsung Eye Clinic located at Isu Station on Subway Line 4 and Line 7~~
A few years ago, whenever my eyes were very tired or strained, tiny blisters would form on the white of my eyes. At first, I was very surprised and rushed to the hospital, but they said it was nothing serious, and since it appeared only briefly and then disappeared, occurring maybe two or three times a year at most, and since there was no pain or vision problems, I ignored it afterward.

But this year, I have been unusually getting blisters frequently, and they last for 2-3 days or even a week.
Then I started experiencing eye pain and my eyes became very dry, so I visited an ophthalmologist around May.
But the doctor said that the whites of the eyes are swollen and inflamed, but they can't determine the cause, and that it's very difficult to find the cause without doing extremely thorough tests on the eyes, which can be quite intimidating.
Anyway, I received eye drops to make my eyes less dry, so it was okay, but since then, very small blisters have appeared on my eyes and haven't gone away. There was also a slight increase in redness.

People are quite dull animals, but at least my eyes didn't feel stuffy or dry, so I was okay... So I just left it alone. But on Thursday, I met up with friends for the first time in a long while and exercised quite intensely, and then I suddenly developed tiny blood vessels in my eyes and blisters inside my eyes became very large... I thought I couldn't handle it, so on Friday I went to the most famous ophthalmology clinic in my neighborhood, not the hospital I usually go to...

My mom is also currently receiving ophthalmology treatment, but out of all the hospitals she has visited, she said this hospital is the best, and many local residents have also recommended it, saying they went there for cataract surgery.
Overall, it feels clean and well-equipped. Since they also perform cataract surgery, there is a cataract surgery center next to the consultation room. And the very last picture is of an eye warmer lol. After the consultation, patients always sit here to warm their eyes.
As expected, there were many people even early in the morning at the hospital. Anyway, while waiting, I looked around and saw that there were many examination machines... As soon as I wrote my name, I had my intraocular pressure test first and then waited.
Wow!! A colleague suddenly appeared!! My colleague also comes here for eye care. Haha, it's even more delightful to meet unexpectedly in an unusual place~~ Since it's vacation, we met after a week.

Anyway, after examining, the doctor looked at it for a while and confirmed that there are blisters on the eye, with signs of inflammation, and for the first time, explained the cause.

Ugh~~ You might find it creepy since only the eyeball is showing... That round thing you see on the left is a blister. I took this in the morning when it was still quite small;;; it's very swollen;;; and the tiny blood vessels are also very prominent;;;
I have a habit of rubbing my eyes frequently. As a result, foreign substances can enter the eyes, or inflammation can occur due to irritation and friction, leading to blisters on the sclera. This is called conjunctival edema.
It is a condition where the tissue surrounding the eyeball externally or the white part of the eye swells and forms blisters. This occurs because blood vessels and lymphatic vessels in the conjunctiva do not circulate properly, leading to inflammation and fluid accumulation in the lower part of the conjunctiva. The fluid caused by inflammation leaks from the blood vessel walls within the conjunctiva, resulting in swelling. Sometimes, the white part of the eye protrudes or becomes floppy, covering the black pupil. Ultimately, due to inflammation, the necessary circulation is blocked and stagnates, causing the white of the eye to swell and form blisters!! This is the explanation, but the previous hospital director did not specify the cause—anyway, the white of the eye swelled! It’s the same thing.
In any case, this is a common symptom among people who frequently touch or rub their eyes, so it is important to take good care of your eyes and never rub them. Applying warm compresses to the eyes is also a helpful tip.
People who frequently suffer from allergic rhinitis or conjunctivitis should all be cautious. I also have severe allergic rhinitis and often get conjunctivitis in my eyes. It became a habit to rub my eyes because they kept feeling uncomfortable and itchy.
The habit of rubbing my eyes eventually irritated them, leading to this conjunctival swelling.

I was prescribed these eye drops.. One seems to be an anti-inflammatory medication and the other just artificial tears..
But the problem is!! The blister has already become too large, and the sclera has swollen and stretched, so it's difficult to return to completely normal;;;;;;; The stretched sclera doesn't flatten out; it just slightly shrinks and then swells again when symptoms appear;;;;;;;;;;
It's not a black pupil, and since it's in the white part of the eye, it's not very noticeable... but because there's a blister in the eye, it stands out a lot, and it also bothers me. If the sclera swells, it can cause a sense of alienation and discomfort whenever I blink.
I'm still experiencing discomfort even though I have received eye drops prescription and am applying the medication four times a day...

Even when I'm stressed and just tired, the same symptoms keep appearing, making me feel a bit like I'm in prison.

I really wonder why, as I get older, the number of places that start to break down exponentially increases...

But the symptoms that appear to me are ultimately all due to my inability to manage them, so I guess I have no choice but to accept it.
Anyway, since my intraocular pressure was high, I was worried it might be an early sign of glaucoma or something similar. The doctor kindly explained everything in detail, and said that if I manage it properly, it won't really affect my eyes much, so I felt relieved. As expected~~ there must be a reason why hospitals that people visit often are popular...
