This hospital has five ENT specialists! There used to be six, but now there are five.
Because the hospital is large, systematic treatment and various treatments are possible.
They also do voice and language therapy.
I wanted to receive systematic treatment at a larger hospital rather than a smaller one, so I went to Boas ENT Clinic.
Also, the fact that it was close to the subway station made it easily accessible.
I received treatment for lymphadenitis and electrocautery at Boas ENT Clinic.
A red lump appeared between my chin and my ear.
At first I thought it was just a big pimple.
I applied Bepanthen and didn't touch it with my hands.
And the next day, the swelling got worse and it got redder.
The area around it was red and sore, like a bug bite.
At first, my family just thought it was something strange, and I thought it was too.
My coworker said I might have lymphadenitis.
I also thought that it wasn't acne because it hurt when I touched the area around the bump and it hurt when I swallowed.
I went to the ENT clinic the day after my first symptoms appeared.
The person who treated me at Boas ENT Clinic was Director Oh Jae-guk.
In addition to the red lumps, he said his throat hurt when he swallowed, he felt like he had a sore throat, and he felt more tired than usual.
The director kept pressing around my neck and asked if it hurt.
The area where the lump was was painful when pressed, but there was no pain in other areas.
The director looked at me and suspected sialadenitis and lymphadenitis. He said that it seemed to be lymphadenitis because there was no pain when he pressed on the salivary glands and there was swelling in the area.
I had an ultrasound of my neck and was diagnosed with lymphadenitis.
I have never had lymphadenitis before, so I asked about the causes of lymphadenitis.
The director said that it could be because I haven't slept well recently or I'm just tired.
And looking at the previous chart, I didn't see any particular problem, so it seemed like simple inflammation, so I was told to take some medicine, and if the pain or swelling didn't go down even after taking all the medicine, I should come back to the hospital.
Every time I go there, I feel that Director Oh Jae-guk is very thorough.
They do not just a quick visual examination, but also palpation and auscultation.
I first saw it in an ENT clinic using a stethoscope.
This is a prescription that was kept to receive reimbursement at the time.
I was prescribed anti-inflammatory painkillers and antibiotics, and fortunately the antibiotics worked well without any side effects.
This photo was taken the day after I took the medicine. The swelling has definitely gone down.
At this time, I had almost finished taking the three-day dose of medicine.
The swelling has gone down, but the bruise hasn't gone away..?
I remember it was the 4th day after I finished taking the 3-day dose of medicine.
I'm the type of person who gets better quickly when I take medicine.
I thought the lump would go away naturally after I finished taking the lymphadenitis medication, but the lump remained.
When looking at the ultrasound, the director said that the lump might not disappear right away, and if it grew bigger or the pain continued within a month, then he would do a biopsy.
They said that it was simple lymphadenitis on ultrasound and that it wouldn't go that far, and that I should take medicine and be fine as long as there was no swelling or pain.
Just like the director said, the lump doesn't disappear right away~
I think it took about two or three weeks for it to completely disappear.
However, the director gave me a thorough explanation in advance about the situations that could arise after taking the medicine.
I wasn't overly anxious and didn't worry about whether I should go to the hospital again or not, so I just calmly watched the progress.
Fortunately, I haven't had any recurrences of lymphadenitis or any new lumps since then.
And another treatment was electrocautery.
I had nosebleeds so often that it was impossible to function normally.
I heard that if you support the nasal blood vessels, nosebleeds will stop semi-permanently or definitely be less frequent than before.
I had a consultation for electrocautery.
After doing a nasal endoscopy, the director said that I should have come earlier because my nose was so swollen from nosebleeds and that it absolutely had to be done.
I remember receiving treatment very comfortably because the doctor was very sympathetic to my discomfort.
Electrocautery is a procedure where they inject an anesthetic into your nose (the anesthesia really hurts) and then cauterize your nose.
Even though I was under anesthesia, it still stung a little.
The procedure was very simple, lasting about 5 to 10 minutes.
Back in the examination room, the director showed me a picture of the inside of my nose.
The top and bottom are before and after the surgery.
It's definitely different.
The procedure was painful, but I haven't had a nosebleed since and I'm very satisfied.
The treatment I received at the ENT clinic was not for a simple cold or sore throat, but for lymphadenitis and cauterization.
I wanted to receive proper treatment at a large hospital.
Boas ENT Clinic was the perfect hospital for my needs.
There wasn't anything particularly disappointing, but the waiting time was hit or miss.
When there are no people waiting, it can be quiet, but when there are a lot of people, the waiting time can take up to an hour.
That means a lot of patients are coming, so I'm trying to think positively.
I was especially satisfied because the director always looked after me so thoroughly.
When going to Boaz, be sure to register under the name of the director.
