This is a review of having dark spots removed at Yonsei Ain Clinic in Seoul.
First, let me briefly introduce the hospital.
It is a dermatology clinic located in Jongno, Seoul. It may not be large in scale, but it is a real gem.
The interior is very neat and pleasant.
Yonsei Ain Clinic operates on a fixed-price system for procedures and is a place I frequently visit for skin consultations or treatments because they have extensive experience in various dermatological procedures and also treat skin conditions.
Actually, my mom had blackheads removed here earlier this year.
For reference, dark spots are a bit different from freckles or age spots.
While age spots and melasma require multiple treatments because the pigmentation is darker and deeper,
The advantage of dark spots is that they are darker in color and less deep, so they can be removed with just one or two sessions of the Repot Laser.
Repot is the name of a laser device, and since it is approved by the US FDA and the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety, it is reliable compared to other procedures and its safety has been verified, making it suitable for middle-aged people.
First, here are the before and after photos of the Repot Laser treatment my mom received.
Looking at the photos, the dark spot on the left in the before picture appears a bit lighter, but in reality, it was a deep beige-colored dark spot.
My mom doesn't have many dark spots, so this one stood out a bit on her face, but it disappeared completely after laser removal.
This was received just once, and over time, the redness completely disappeared and the skin became clear. No additional treatments have been performed since then.
The advantage is that the effects of the procedure appear immediately in such a short period of time.
After the procedure, you apply Duoderm to the areas where the dark spots were and leave it on for two weeks before visiting a dermatologist to have it removed. So, the downsides are that you can't wash the area for two weeks and the cost is a factor...
Still, my mom was very satisfied and recommended it to my aunt as well!!

Post-procedure - Apply Duoderm for 2 weeks
The downside is that you have to live with it attached like this.
2 weeks later - Duoderm removed
I couldn't take a picture when my mom got the procedure, but I took one this time!
When you peel off the Duoderm, the dark spots come off with it and are removed. It’s really fascinating, even after seeing it twice.

The redness naturally disappeared later.
My aunt was much more effective than my mom.
The price is definitely on the higher side, but I think it is a real advantage that you see significant results after just one session. Considering the time required for treatments that typically involve multiple sessions, it seems like a good deal!
