Q. What are the causes and symptoms of presbyopia and cataracts?
Presbyopia is a disease in which nearby objects become difficult to see due to a decrease in accommodative power, and cataracts are a disease in which the lens of the eye becomes cloudy, reducing vision.
Both of these diseases can be said to be caused by aging of the eyes.
Eventually, as we age, the lens hardens and becomes unable to focus, causing presbyopia.
Also, if abnormal proteins accumulate in the lens, it becomes cloudy, which causes cataracts.
