Is once a day artificial tears okay?

Some people say that tolerance develops and advise not to use it frequently.

Some people say it's better to use it than to keep it dry.

Is it okay to use preservative-free artificial tears once a day?

I use the single-use preservative-free artificial tears prescribed at the ophthalmology clinic, but I wonder if I might develop a tolerance??

Eyes are really important, but since opinions vary from person to person, I'm curious.
