(Question) Will inflammatory spinal pain heal naturally if left untreated?
I recently woke up from sleep and suddenly my lower back hurt, making it difficult to sit, lie down, or walk for a few days. The exact painful area was near the tailbone at the lower part of my back. I had felt a stiff, hard sensation in my spine or shoulders for a long time, but this was the first time I experienced pain. I looked up some information and it seemed like the back pain might be due to inflammation, such as ankylosing spondylitis, so I decided to wait and see without going to the hospital. However, I am curious—do inflammatory back pains, other than a herniated disc, improve on their own over time without going to the hospital? Of course, going to the hospital might lead to faster recovery or better treatment effects, but I want to know if it’s okay not to go to the hospital.
