Bulging fat and sagging under the eyes... Is fat redistribution surgery okay for someone in their 60s?
This is a story about my mom.
My mother had lower eyelid fat repositioning surgery in her 40s, and at that time, her under-eye area was definitely refined and her appearance became much brighter.
I think the effect was better because the surgery was performed in her 40s, which is not that old. My mother herself was very satisfied with the surgery, and she said she heard a lot of people around her say that it turned out very well.
She is approaching her 60s, and due to the effects of aging, her under-eyes have become puffy again.
I'm not sure if it's because my skin elasticity has decreased as I've gotten older and fat has returned, or if it's a side effect of the surgery.
Even in photos, the area under my eyes looks prominent, but in person, it is even more noticeable than in the pictures, so it does stand out a bit to me as well.
My mom said she keeps worrying about the area under her eyes and wants to have surgery.
Usually, people often undergo fat redistribution surgery to fix sagging and puffiness under the eyes.
However, from the family's perspective, we are concerned about whether it is okay to have fat redistribution surgery at a not-so-young age.
Of course, the results will be good, but considering skin elasticity, recovery speed, and the duration of the effects after surgery, I think the situation will be different from before.
Is it possible to alleviate under-eye puffiness through non-surgical methods, such as laser treatments, injections, or aesthetic care, instead of surgery?
If it is possible, I am also curious about the extent of the effect. I want to know if it is possible in a single session or if it needs to be done multiple times. I also want to know if such management provides merely temporary improvement, or if the results can be maintained to some extent with consistent care.
If anyone around you, or anyone in their 60s or 70s, has personally undergone lower eyelid fat repositioning surgery, or if there is anyone who has managed their under-eye area non-surgically at an older age, I would be grateful if you could share your real-life experiences!
