What could be the cause of a lump under the earlobe?
There is a round lump like a bump under my left earlobe.
It's about the size of a fingernail, and I didn't even notice it. I discovered it recently.
But it subsided and then a lump appeared again, repeating the cycle.
The location is in a place that isn't very noticeable, so usually when I was just there, I didn't feel any particular discomfort. I wasn't in pain either.
But last night, while sleeping on my left side, I unconsciously let out a scream!
When I lay down in that direction, it suddenly became very painful!
I took a picture and I think I look a bit swollen.
I turned over to the opposite side and slept again, and fortunately, the pain disappeared after I woke up the next day.
You can still feel a lump when touching it by hand.
It doesn't seem to be a pimple outbreak, so I don't think it's a pimple.
I'm not sure if it's a skin cyst or a lymph node.
Should I go to the hospital?
I heard that the lump under the ear could be a lymph node, so I don't know which department to go to when I visit the hospital.
I'm wondering if I can just leave it since I'm not in pain right now, or if I need to go to the hospital.
